Freedom Courts Sportplex to host championship belt show.

Fayetteville, NC – Nearly 400 boxers at all skill levels from all 50 states and Puerto Rico will compete in the Christy Martin Title Invitational Boxing Tournament on July 24-25 at Freedom Courts Sportsplex in Fayetteville.

The tournament is open to all boxers registered with USA Boxing, the governing body for all amateur boxing in the United States. “We will have elite boxers competing in this event,” says Mark Hornsby, Director, Harnett County Sheriff’s Office Police Athletic League (PAL). “Because this is one of the largest amateur tournaments held in the United States, the exposure participants receive will be invaluable.”

Christy Martin, who was inducted into the Boxing Hall of Fame in 2019, will be in town for the event.  In the week prior to the tournament, she will be speaking to several groups about supporting victims of domestic violence.  After suffering domestic violence and a murder attempt by her former husband, Martin has made it her mission to support domestic violence victims.

The tournament starts at 12 pm on both days of the competition. Spectators are welcome. Admission is $10 to $25 at the door.
