Fayetteville, NC – More than 300 boxers are slated to compete at the first annual Carolina Gloves Boxing Tournament May 14-16 at Freedom Courts Sportsplex. Current registrants range in age from 8 to age 70.
The tournament, which is organized and run by North Carolina USA Boxing, is open to members of USA Boxing. “We envision a brand tournament that grows bigger each year,” says Patrick Finklin, President, NC USA Amateur Boxing. “We are pleased to introduce all that Fayetteville has to offer to attendees.”
Tournament play starts at 12 pm each day, with the championship matches on Sunday. Daily winners move on to the championship bouts on Sunday, when they vie for the title “Carolina Gloves Championship.” Spectators are welcome, and the cost is $15 per person.
“Having Carolina attached to the tournament and hosted in Fayetteville is big,” says Finklin. “And Freedom Courts is the perfect venue and the staff there has been exceedingly accommodating.”
