Registered USA Boxers Are Invited to Register for Three-day Event Honoring Salters-Martin’s Legacy
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C., JULY 14, 2022 – North Carolina USA Boxing returns to Fayetteville July 22-24 to host the 2022 Christy Martin Title Boxing Tournament. All USA registered boxers are invited to participate in the three-day event at the Freedom Courts Sportsplex. The annual tournament honors the life and resilience of World Champion Boxer Christy Salters-Martin.
“Bringing Christy Martin’s Title Boxing Invitational, one of the biggest tournaments on the East Coast, back to the Fayetteville area was a no-brainer,” said Mark Hornsby, N.C. Vice President, USA Boxing. “We look forward to showcasing some of the best male and female boxing talent from across the world during this three-day event. As the person who put female boxing on the map, Christy is thrilled to be in attendance to share encouragement for the talented athletes participating.”
Salters-Martin is not only known for legitimizing women in boxing but also for surviving a vicious attack by her former husband and coach, Jim Martin, that left her clinging to life. Salters-Martin survived the attack, confronted her former husband, and delivered the testimony that put him behind bars. She now continues to advocate for women in abusive relationships.

Boxers can register for the tournament for $30. Admission is $25 for spectators. All weigh-ins and registration will be held at the event location.
