DistiNCtly Fayetteville Celebrates Tourism’s Impact on Fayetteville Area’s Economy
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C., MAY 9, 2023 – DistiNCtly Fayetteville, Cumberland County’s tourism and marketing arm, is honoring National Travel and Tourism Week’s (NTTW) milestone 40th anniversary taking place from May 7- 13, 2023.
This celebration is an annual tradition for the U.S. travel community. It’s a time when travel and tourism professionals across the country celebrate the value and ongoing impact travel has on people, businesses, and the overall economy.
This year’s NTTW theme is “Travel Forward.” Seth Benalt, Crown Complex General Manager and DistiNCtly Fayetteville Board Chairman, says DistiNCtly Fayetteville has fully embraced the theme this past year.
Previously called Fayetteville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, DistiNCtly Fayetteville recently launched a new marketing campaign, "Have You Done It ‘Yette?” to go with the name change. The campaign’s goal is to raise excitement about the abundance of local and regional attractions to drive tourism to the city. And there’s a lot to offer.
From world-renowned museums and exciting activities to charming local shops and international dining venues, Fayetteville and Cumberland County offer it all. DistiNCtly Fayetteville invites visitors to explore all the distinct experiences that make Fayetteville genuinely unique.
“We are proud of our team’s hard work,” Benalt said. “They’ve imagined and implemented our strong new brand and a campaign to push travel forward in Cumberland County. We look forward to continued tourism growth in the Fayetteville area for years to come.”
In a study conducted by Tourism Economics for VisitNC, Cumberland County tourism generated more than $608 million annually. This accounts for more than 4,550 jobs and $163.2 million in payroll.
“These statistics illustrate the importance travel and tourism have on the region,” Benalt continued.
