FAYETTEVILLE, N.C., SEPT. 15, 2022 – The Fayetteville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (FACVB) is proud to recognize Angie Brady, Director of Tourism Marketing, for her new position representing North Carolina on the Southeast Tourism Society Board.
In her new role as the N.C. representative, Brady will work alongside other state representatives to create new initiatives, based on advocacy and important policy issues impacting the tourism industry. Brady’s skills and tenure in the industry will allow her to recognize key opportunities to form relationships with organizations, such as state tourism associations and travel and tourism service providers for consumers. Brady was selected from a pool of 33 candidates for only 12 available board seats.
The Southeast Tourism Society (STS) was formed almost 40 years ago with the belief that regional promotion of tourism, via a mutual partnership between states, will provide a powerful model marketing alliance unparalleled throughout the country. The STS is comprised of 13 member states (plus the District of Columbia) with board representatives from each area: Alabama, Arkansas, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. The STS Board guides the association’s strategic initiatives and annual plans through the collaboration of many highly qualified and selected individuals from across the country.
“The Southeast Tourism Society’s regional impact on travel and tourism through advocacy and empowerment of industry leaders is immense,” said Brady. “I am grateful for this opportunity to join the board and eager to begin working alongside other impactful leaders across the southeast region.”
In her 14 years with the FACVB, Brady pioneered many projects, including the Cultural Heritage Trails program, the “Be a Guest in Your Hometown” Passport, the regional Wayfinding Signage project, the Hometown Hops Brewery Passport and Heroes Homecoming. She is now leading the innovative rebranding effort which will be launched soon.
“Angie is well deserving of this highly recognized position representing both the Fayetteville area and the State of North Carolina,” said Randy Fiveash, Interim President & CEO of the FACVB. “We look forward to watching her make a tremendous impact on the organization and the tourism industry as a whole, just as she has in our community.”
Brady is a 1999 graduate of N.C. State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in parks, recreation, and tourism management with a concentration in resort management and commercial tourism. In 2012, she earned her Tourism Marketing Professional certification through the Southeast Tourism Society. In May 2020, Brady received her Master of Science in hospitality management from Johnson & Wales University.
