Explore the motivations behind the Victorian spiritualism movement, how mediums performed tricks that deceived their viewers, and the counter movement that came about to expose mediums as frauds.

Shoot the walking dead in close-range environments with an automatic electric airsoft paintball marker, created to closely resemble a tactical firearm with glowing ammo.

Calling all undead zombies to the annual prom night stroll on Hay Street in the Cool Spring Downtown District, Saturday, October 25, from 6-10 p.m. All living monsters are welcome to take part in listening to live terrifying tunes, street performances, a costume contest, wrestling by Ring Wars Carolina Pro Wrestling, street make-up artists, and local galleries and shops decorated in gruesome gore as they roam the horror-stricken streets of Downtown Fayetteville.

This year’s Ghost and Goblins Beer Mile tops the list for one of the best ways to be prepared for a zombie apocalypse, should it occur. Join Rogue Alpha Athletics at Dirtbag Ales Brewery and Taproom for a one-mile course run, jog, walk, or crawl of your choice. All participants, whether you break a sweat on the course or cheer monsters and gremlins on from the sideline, can enjoy a refreshing 4-to 10-ounce beer of their liking, and watch keg carry relays with the purchase of a ticket.

Check-in begins at 2 p.m. and the elite wave to start the race is slated for 2:15 p.m.

Day of the Dead Masquerade Ball at Paddy’s

Honor the deceased with a celebration of the dead on the dance floor. Get dressed in your finest costumes and head down to Paddy’s Irish Public House for the Day of the Dead Masquerade Ball on Saturday, November 1. Capture pictures at the photo booth, receive tarot card readings by Mama Ro, Voodoo Priestess, get your sugar skull face paintings by Sarah Sandrock as Rockabilly band THEM and DJ Epic keep the party dead.

The undead are free to enter the ball at no cost before 9 p.m. The party will be going from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.
