Comedy for a Cause
March 1
Paddy’s Irish Public House
Prepare for Paddy’s first “Comedy for a Cause” to help raise money for a good cause. Proceeds go to support the small town of Marshall in Western North Carolina, which was devastated by Hurricane Helene. Enjoy a few drinks and lots of laughs. A silent auction will be held—with limited seating.
Lafayette Procession and Welcome
March 4
Green Street, Downtown Fayetteville
Help greet the Marquis de Lafayette at Cross Creek Park as the city’s namesake makes his grand entrance into Fayetteville in a horse-drawn carriage, just like he did in 1825. Then head to First Presbyterian Church to meet the Marquis in person! This historic reenactment is part of the nationwide 200th Anniversary of Lafayette’s Grand Tour of the U.S.
Lafayette Exhibit at the Fayetteville History Museum

View some real history from the Marquis’ visit through the Lafayette Exhibit at the Fayetteville History Museum. Items include artifacts and official documents like the Liberty Point Resolves. The decree proposed separation from England a full year before the Declaration of Independence. The original “Lafayette Map” will also be on display. Lafayette gave the hand-written speech when he arrived in Fayetteville in 1825.
Fayetteville Independent Light Infantry Museum Tour

Experience even more Lafayette history at the Fayetteville Independent Light Infantry Museum Tour. The highlight will be the actual carriage that carried Lafayette around the city during his 1825 farewell tour of America.
