For History Buffs

Remember heroic veterans in Greater Fayetteville, the neighbor to Fort Bragg, the largest military installation in the United States. As the unofficial home of the U.S. Army, there are few communities in the world that can compete with the military history and tradition of Cumberland County. From the Revolutionary War to today, we have been home to military members.

Explore some of the richest military heritage by walking or driving our military themed cultural Lafayette, Patriots Past & Present, American Independence Heritage and Civil War Heritage trails.

Visit the Fayetteville History Museum, the North Carolina Veterans Park, the Special Forces Wall Mural, Arsenal Park and the 82nd Airborne Division War Memorial Museum, significant monuments and buildings that honor our American heroes.

Two visitors walk through a military history exhibit lined with large blue-toned panels of paratroopers and nearby display cases at Fayetteville's ASOM.

Fun & Festive Friday

Frontload your holiday shopping with visits to the 58th Annual Holly Day Fair, the largest holiday gift and craft show in Eastern North Carolina and veteran-owned businesses.

As a neighbor to the Home of the Airborne and Special Operations Forces, it’s no wonder Fayetteville is brimming with nearly 12% of the businesses being veteran-owned.

Retreat into the world of theatre and arts to enjoy tales of hysteria or classics with an R&B twist in viewings of The Crucible by Arthur Miller presented by Sweet Tea Shakespeare and Little Shops of Horror at Cape Fear Regional Theater.

More action awaits you at the Crown Complex in an ice matchup between the Fayetteville Marksmen and the Macon Mayhem for cancer awareness. “Hockey Fights Cancer” is a night to reflect and honor the journey of loved ones during the fight against cancer.

A group of smiling shoppers pose with festive Holly Day Fair tote bags while exploring vendor booths filled with holiday gifts and apparel at the Crown Expo Center in Fayetteville, NC.

A Saturday Salute to Service

Spice up your afternoon by taking part in the Hope Mills Chamber Chili Cook Off. Unwind inside Dirtbag Ales Brewery & Taproom, a unique taproom brewed from a veteran’s heart for all who enjoy experiencing life through experiment, bites and sips, located conveniently off I-95.

Sample chili from local chefs, businesses and home cooks, cast your vote, browse vendor booths and enjoy good vibes.

Excitement in Fayetteville continues on the dance floor and the gridiron. Join the Fayetteville Chapter, 82nd Airborne Division Association with family and friends for the Boots and Fans Family Dance.
