1. Terry Sanford High School
1999 Terry Sanford High School, where it all started. With the number 15 anchored on the varsity basketball jersey backside of Jermaine Cole, better known as J. Cole, sported through the halls until 2003. He wrapped up his four years decorated with a 4.2 GPA. He was such an influence that on March 1, 2012, the school gave him an official "J. Cole" Day.
2. The Market House
The Market House building is the center of downtown Fayetteville. The talented artist uses a replica of the structure, along with his early 2000s Honda Civic, on his tour stage as a prop set. This building is a staple in our community due to the history it holds. He was spotted in 2020 participating in local protests around the Market House.
3. 226 The Warehouse 2-6 Mural
Just down the road from the Market House is the 226 The Warehouse, a venue space where you can hold many different events. On the side of the building dripped in an array of colors, you'll see legends from Fayetteville. Including but not limited to VicBlends, Morray, and, of course, J. Cole. This gigantic mural is hard to miss with its streaming, vibrant colors and beautiful execution. The seven local artists who completed it dedicated months to this piece. Truly not something you'd want to bypass.
4. Back-Around Records
Are you a selfie person? Well, Back Around Records has an up-and-trending selfie-wall location. No, I'm not talking about the Goddess mural, which is also immensely stunning. Walk around the corner on the outer side wall of Back Around Records, closest to the street. Snuggled in the corner is a stunning wall piece by the grammy-award winning lyric creative. Many people have been posting selfies at this popular site. You should participate!
6. Murchison Road & Matthews Street
Adding one bonus location just for fun. You should march over to the corner of Murchison Road and Matthews Street. There you will find an unmistakable, picture-worthy, brick canvas, spray-paint-decorated with J. Cole's portrait.
5. The Ville Mural
Keeping the arts prominent, the next stop is nicely nestled between the Cumberland County Library and Segra Stadium, hidden under the bridge. A secret gem taking a nod to the Fayetteville artist. It is a black, gray, and white must-see masterpiece.
